Newcastle United are closing in on the signing of Nico Gonzalez from Manchester City in a deal worth up to £52m, as the Magpies move to bolster their midfield following a summer of significant departures.
According to reports, Newcastle will pay an initial £48m for the Spanish international, with a further £4m available in add-ons. The transfer represents a slight profit for City, who signed Gonzalez from Porto in January 2025 for £49m.
