Shevchenko's Son Joins Non-League Sholing After Watford Release

By LiveScore365 Newsroom · Premier League Hull City

Kristian Shevchenko, son of Ukrainian football icon Andriy Shevchenko, has agreed a permanent move to seventh-tier side Sholing FC, the Southern League Premier Division South club confirmed.

The 19-year-old, who came through academy setups at Chelsea, Tottenham and Watford, was let go by Watford in May after representing their under-21 side. He now begins a new chapter well outside the professional pyramid, joining a club based in Southampton that has been quietly building connections with higher-level football.

Sholing's rise in profile owes something to the involvement of current Premier League players. Chelsea and England defender Levi Colwill serves as the club's associate director and community ambassador, while Hull City full-back Matt Targett also has ties to the club through his younger brother Brad, who turns out for Sholing's first team.

Manager Paul Doswell explained that the signing reflects a deliberate shift in how the club recruits talent, leaning on relationships built through academy football rather than traditional non-league scouting channels.
