Tottenham Hotspur winger Dejan Kulusevski is facing a potential six-month driving ban after being caught speeding through London's Limehouse Link tunnel, with the Swedish international pleading guilty to the offence and pleading his case to magistrates in writing.

The 26-year-old was clocked travelling at 43mph in a 30mph zone at 3.39pm on September 28 last year, according to the Metropolitan Police, who brought the prosecution against the Audi-driving forward. Kulusevski entered his guilty plea last week through the Single Justice Procedure, and the matter has now been referred to a full sentencing hearing at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on September 21.

According to submissions made by the Met to the court, the offence means Kulusevski will accumulate at least 12 penalty points on his driving licence, a total that puts him at serious risk of losing his licence for half a year. Under UK motoring law, drivers who reach 12 points can apply to a magistrate to avoid a mandatory ban, but they must demonstrate that a disqualification would cause them
