Paris Saint-Germain have strengthened their attacking options by completing the signing of Spain international Ferran Torres from Barcelona, with the forward putting pen to paper on a long-term contract running until 2031.
While the French champions did not officially confirm the fee, reports have indicated that PSG paid around €50m (£42.7m) to prise the 26-year-old away from the Camp Nou. The move reunites Torres with Luis Enrique, the PSG head coach who previously worked with the forward during his time in charge of the Spanish national team.
Torres arrives in Paris on the back of a stellar year both domestically and on the international stage. He was instrumental in Barcelona's La Liga title defence last season, contributing 21 goals and three assists across 49 appearances in all competitions. His most memorable moment of the year, however, came on the international stage, where he netted the extra-time winner for Spain in the World Cup final against Argentina, cementing his status as one of the tournament's standout performers.
Speaking after finalising his move, Torres expressed his excitement at joining one of European football's most ambitious projects.
