With the summer transfer window nearing its close, Premier League champions Arsenal are among the busiest clubs as they look to strengthen multiple areas of the squad before deadline day.
Arsenal have entered talks with Bayer Leverkusen over England international Jarell Quansah, with the north London club keen to bring in defensive cover following William Saliba's injury. The 23-year-old, formerly of Liverpool, is seen as a versatile option capable of playing centre-back or right-back. Should that pursuit stall, Arsenal are also reportedly leading the race for Brighton midfielder Jack Hinshelwood, valued at around £50million, with manager Mikel Arteta said to be a long-time admirer of the 21-year-old, who scored four goals in 27 Premier League appearances last season.
In attack, Arsenal continue to monitor the situation surrounding Julian Alvarez. Barcelona have made the Argentine their top striker target all summer, but Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has ruled out selling to a domestic rival. With Barcelona now exploring alternatives such as Inter's Lautaro Martinez and Sporting CP's Luis Suarez — who reportedly has an £68.3million release clause — Arsenal could be handed an opening to make a late move for Alvarez if the Catalan club's interest cools.
Meanwhile, Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has turned down the opportunity to join Galatasaray, a move that had been floated as part of broader talks involving Turkish striker Victor Osimhen, who is also drawing interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.
Elsewhere, Arteta addressed his own future at the club, insisting he is relaxed about entering the final year of his contract.
