Enes Unal Departs Bournemouth to Rejoin Getafe on Free Transfer

Enes Unal has left AFC Bournemouth to return to Getafe, completing a switch back to the Spanish club after an injury-affected spell on England's south coast.

The 29-year-old Turkey international departs on a free transfer, though Bournemouth have negotiated a deal that could see them earn up to £1.3m in bonus payments, along with a 20% cut of any future sale involving the striker.

Unal's time at the Vitality Stadium never quite hit the heights that had been hoped for when Bournemouth turned his loan into a permanent deal. He first arrived on loan from Getafe in January 2024, impressing enough to convince the club to complete a permanent transfer worth around £13m later that year. However, persistent injury problems limited his impact, and he managed only five goals across 58 appearances for the Cherries.
