Chelsea have confirmed that goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen will join a Ligue 1 club on a season-long loan, in what represents the club's ninth confirmed departure of the summer transfer window. Despite the limited minutes, Jorgensen's spell in west London was far from unsuccessful on a team level. He was a regular starter during Chelsea's triumphant UEFA Conference League campaign in May 2025, missing only one match throughout that run, and later added a Club World Cup winner's medal to his collection later in the summer. Last season alone, the shot-stopper featured 12 times across four different competitions as Chelsea reached the semi-finals in both domestic cup competitions.
In a statement released to confirm the move, the club paid tribute to the goalkeeper's contribution during his time at Stamford Bridge. "Jorgensen was a key member of the Chelsea side that lifted the UEFA Conference League in May 2025, starting all but one game in the competition.
