The transfer gossip continues to swirl with Aston Villa once again finding themselves at the centre of speculation, as several clubs circle their prized assets amid another turbulent window for the Midlands side.

Arsenal have reportedly rekindled their interest in Ezri Konsa, returning with an improved offer after an initial approach for the England international was turned down last month. According to the Daily Mail, the Premier League champions are prepared to go higher than before, though Villa are said to want a minimum of £60m to sanction any sale. Villa, meanwhile, are attempting to bolster their own defensive ranks, working on a £14m move for Atlético Madrid's Italian left-back Matteo Ruggeri.

Liverpool are also active in the market for defensive reinforcements and have been linked with a move for Real Madrid centre-back Raúl Asencio. The 23-year-old has reportedly been given the green light to leave the Bernabéu, with intermediaries said to have already made contact with Liverpool regarding a potential switch, according to Teamtalk. Liverpool manager Arne Slot is also believed to be monitoring Paris Saint-Germain teenager Ibrahim Mbaye, an 18-year-old winger who caught the eye with a spectacular goal for Senegal against France at the World Cup. Mbaye is said to be open to a move to Anfield.

On Merseyside's blue half, Everton have been credited with interest in Celtic and Canada full-back Alistair Johnston, who is reportedly keen on testing himself in the Premier League. The Scotsman reports that Everton manager David Moyes has already held discussions with Celtic boss Martin O'Neill about the possibility of a deal.

In Turkey, Trabzonspor's ambitions appear to be growing following the arrival of Mohamed Salah, a move that reportedly sparked jubilant scenes among supporters. The Egyptian could soon be joined by former Liverpool teammate Darwin Núñez, who has struggled for form since his switch to Saudi club Al-Hilal last year and would be available on a free transfer.

Fenerbahce, meanwhile, have entered the race for Real Madrid forward Endrick, though they face competition from Fiorentina and Roma. The Brazilian, who spent last season on loan at Lyon, could add further star power to a Fenerbahce squad already featuring the likes of Nathan Aké, N'Golo Kanté and Marco Asensio.

Newcastle United, having lost several key figures over the summer, are reportedly considering a move for Tottenham midfielder Lucas Bergvall, according to Football Insider, though Nottingham Forest are also said to be interested in the young Swede. Fulham, meanwhile, are exploring a deal for Southampton's Shea Charles, with the Saints valuing the Northern Ireland international at around £30m.

Lower down the football pyramid, Middlesbrough have reportedly agreed a £14m deal to sign goalkeeper Radek Vitek from Manchester United. The 22-year-old Czech spent last season on loan at Bristol City, making 41 appearances, but never featured for United's senior side. Sky Sports reports that United have nonetheless secured a 35% sell-on clause as part of the agreement. Boro are also said to be closing in on a £7m move for Tottenham defender Ashley Phillips.

Finally, in Germany, Hamburg are reportedly interested in bringing Leeds United defender Sebastiaan Bornauw back to the Bundesliga after just a single season in English football. The 27-year-old, who has previously represented Wolfsburg and Köln, could be set for a return to familiar territory.
