Manchester United are pressing ahead with a significant overhaul of their squad, with two more players poised to leave Old Trafford as manager Michael Carrick continues to reshape the group ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Altay Bayindir and Radek Vitek are both understood to be closing in on moves away from the club, with medicals arranged for each player as United look to finalize the departures.
Bayindir, who has struggled for consistent playing time in Manchester, is set to join Celta Vigo on loan for the 2024-25 season. The arrangement will see the Spanish club given the option to sign the goalkeeper permanently for a fee in the region of £3.5million once the loan spell concludes.
Meanwhile, Vitek is heading to the Championship, with Middlesbrough agreeing a deal that could rise to £14million in total. Boro will pay an initial £7m to secure his signature, having been impressed by his form while on loan at Bristol City last season. As part of the agreement, United have negotiated a 35 per cent sell-on clause, along with matching rights on any future offers for the player and a buy-back option, underlining the club's confidence that Vitek could develop into a more prominent asset down the line.
The two exits form part of a broader restructuring effort at United this summer. Carrick has already sanctioned the sale of Rasmus Hojlund to Napoli, a move that follows a productive loan spell in Italy for the striker. The club has also seen several senior players leave following the expiration of their contracts, including Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho, as United look to trim down an oversized squad.
On the incoming side, United have been active in the market as well. The club moved swiftly last month to sign Andrey Santos from Chelsea, adding a fresh option in midfield. That deal was soon followed by the arrival of Youri Tielemans, with United triggering the Belgian's £35million release clause to prise him away from Aston Villa.
Despite the incoming additions, Carrick is understood to still be prioritizing reinforcements at left-back, an area of the squad seen as thin following the exits of several defenders. Luke Shaw remains the only established senior option in that position, prompting the club to search for competition and depth there.
Newcastle United's Lewis Hall has emerged as a player of interest for Carrick's side, though sources close to the situation suggest that negotiating a deal for the young defender would prove difficult, given his importance to the Magpies' plans.
The flurry of activity signals a clear intent from Carrick to trim the squad of surplus or underused personnel while simultaneously targeting specific improvements to the first team. With the transfer window still open, further incomings and outgoings are expected as United continue to refine their roster before the new season gets underway.
For now, attention turns to the medicals for Bayindir and Vitek, with both departures expected to be confirmed in the coming days once the formalities are completed.
