Transfer Talk: Balogun Linked with Spurs, City and Chelsea in Neto Tug-of-War

By LiveScore365 Newsroom · MLS Arsenal FC

The summer transfer window continues to churn out intriguing storylines, with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Chelsea all featuring prominently in the latest round of speculation.

Folarin Balogun, who began his career at Arsenal before moving to Monaco, has been floated as a potential target for Tottenham as the north London club searches for reinforcements up front. The American striker's representatives are reportedly testing interest from Spurs, who are keen to add firepower after a disappointing league finish. Roberto De Zerbi's side have also been credited with admiration for Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson, though no formal offer has been submitted for the Senegalese striker.

Elsewhere, Pedro Neto's future at Chelsea remains a subject of debate. Enzo Maresca, who worked with the Portuguese winger during his time at Stamford Bridge and now manages Manchester City, is said to be keen on a reunion — particularly if Savinho departs the Etihad. However, sources close to Chelsea insist Neto is "highly, highly valued" by the club and would only be sold for an exceptional fee, reflecting the inflated market for top wingers. Despite reported interest from Tottenham, Liverpool and clubs in Saudi Arabia, sources at both Chelsea and Tottenham have denied any formal enquiry was made by Spurs for the winger. Chelsea have also stated they have not entered serious negotiations with any club over Neto this summer.

In other Tottenham news, winger Manor Solomon appeared close to a move to West Ham, but Hull City have entered the race as they ramp up their transfer business, hoping to lure the Israeli international.

At Manchester City, midfielder Tijjani Reijnders has struggled to find a consistent role and could be on the move, with Nottingham Forest reportedly showing interest at a fee close to £55m — though his best position at the City Ground remains uncertain. Manchester United, meanwhile, are said to view Morgan Gibbs-White as a potential long-term replacement for Bruno Fernandes, should the Portuguese midfielder eventually leave Old Trafford, though such a deal is not expected imminently.

Manchester City are also closing in on goalkeeper Gerónimo Rulli from Marseille, viewed as the ideal successor to James Trafford, who is set to join Leeds United.

Crystal Palace are reportedly preparing to make a move for Real Salt Lake's teenage winger Zavier Gozo, a player highly rated within MLS circles who could be tempted by a switch to south London. Meanwhile, Palace winger Romain Esse, a product of Lambeth football, has attracted interest from Club Brugge after a productive loan spell at Coventry City. The Belgian side recently completed the signing of Freddie Potts from West Ham.

In non-league circles, Boreham Wood's Abdul Abdulmalik has become a target for Swedish club Djurgårdens, who have already seen a £1m bid rejected and could return with an improved offer.

Free agent Jadon Sancho, who left Manchester United at the end of his contract, is reported to have multiple options on the table from clubs across Europe and Saudi Arabia as he weighs up his next move.

Finally, Romelu Lukaku's European career could be nearing its conclusion. The Napoli striker, still just 33 despite recent injury setbacks, has drawn interest from Atlanta United, who are keen to bring the Belgian to Major League Soccer.

On Chelsea's incoming front, the club has already completed a club-record £117m move for Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, alongside the signings of Lacroix, Welbeck, Jordan Henderson, Valentin Barco and Marco Palestra, plus pre-agreed deals for Emmanuel Emegha, Geovany Quenda and Dastan Satpayev. Chelsea are also negotiating a loan agreement with Championship side Portsmouth for young talent Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
