Fulham have officially completed the signings of Cesar Palacios and Gonzalo Garcia, marking the first two additions of Alvaro Arbeloa's tenure as head coach at Craven Cottage. The club confirmed both players' shirt numbers on Monday evening as the pair put pen to paper on long-term contracts.
Palacios, a 21-year-old attacking midfielder, joins from Real Madrid for an undisclosed fee and has agreed a five-year deal that will run until 2031, with Fulham holding the option to extend the contract by an additional year. Striker Garcia has signed on similar terms, also committing to a five-year contract with a 12-month extension clause built in.
The two arrivals represent a reunion with Arbeloa, who worked closely with both players during his time at Real Madrid in the second half of last season. Their combined transfer fee is reported to be £42.5 million, a significant statement of intent from Fulham as they back their new head coach in the transfer market.
Speaking after finalising his move, Palacios expressed his excitement at joining the Premier League club.
