Garnacho Hints at Chelsea Frustration After Making Aston Villa Debut

By LiveScore365 Newsroom · Aston Villa

Alejandro Garnacho made his first appearance for Aston Villa on Saturday, starting in a 3-1 pre-season victory over the Indonesia All Stars, and used the occasion to send what looked like a pointed message toward his parent club, Chelsea.

The Argentine winger featured in the opening half at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium as Unai Emery's side built a commanding 2-0 lead before he was withdrawn at the break. Although he did not find the net, Garnacho was involved in Villa's early attacking play as the club continued building toward the upcoming campaign.

Garnacho's move to Villa comes less than a year after he left Manchester United for Chelsea, a switch that has not worked out as he had hoped. The 22-year-old has now joined Villa on loan, with the arrangement structured to become a permanent transfer.

Following the match, Garnacho posted an image from the fixture on Instagram with a caption that many observers read as a subtle dig at Chelsea.
