European football's premier club competition kicks off again this week, and fans in the UK can keep track of all the action through extensive BBC coverage throughout the campaign.
Following the format established over the past two seasons, the BBC will provide game-by-game highlights from 22:00 BST on Wednesdays during Champions League matchweeks, available on BBC iPlayer as well as the BBC Sport website and app.
Match of the Day will also carry highlights and expert analysis of the competition's key moments and storylines. The programme airs on BBC One on Wednesdays at 22:40, with an additional Thursday edition scheduled for 10 September, also at 22:40 on BBC One.
Beyond television, the BBC Sport website, app and social media channels will offer video clips from matches, while live text commentary will track games in real time online and through the app. Radio listeners can tune into BBC Radio 5 Live, which will broadcast commentary of selected fixtures, with streaming also available via BBC Sounds and smart speakers.
For those wanting deeper analysis and reaction, the BBC's Football Daily and Euro Leagues podcasts will cover the biggest talking points from the competition as the season progresses.
This campaign features five clubs representing English football: Arsenal, Aston Villa, Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United. Their involvement means the BBC will be broadcasting highlights across three major competitions this season — the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup.
While the BBC will focus on highlights and radio commentary, live broadcasts of Champions League matches in the UK will be split between TNT Sport and Amazon Prime Video. Amazon holds the rights to the Tuesday fixtures, streaming 17 matches across the league phase, while TNT Sport will broadcast all remaining games.
The opening round of fixtures gets underway on Tuesday, 8 September, with a busy schedule of matches. At 17:45 BST, AEK Athens face LASK while Club Brugge host Aston Villa. The 20:00 kick-offs include Borussia Dortmund against Villarreal, Lille versus Real Betis, Porto hosting Manchester City — with that match also carried on 5 Live — and a heavyweight clash between Real Madrid and Inter Milan.
Action continues on Wednesday, 9 September. Barcelona take on Feyenoord and Stuttgart face Viking in the early kick-offs at 17:45. The later 20:00 slate features Liverpool against Atletico Madrid, which will also be available on 5 Live, alongside Napoli hosting Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain facing Slovan Bratislava, and Sporting CP taking on Galatasaray.
The opening round wraps up on Thursday, 10 September. Fenerbahce host Roma and PSV face Shakhtar Donetsk in the 17:45 kick-offs. The evening's 20:00 fixtures include Bayern Munich against Bodo/Glimt, Como hosting RB Leipzig, Manchester United taking on Sabah, and Slavia Prague meeting Lens.
All kick-off times are listed in BST, and fans are encouraged to check BBC platforms for full match schedules and highlight availability as the tournament unfolds throughout the season.
