Arsenal have added another promising talent to their academy ranks with the signing of 19-year-old winger James Scanlon from Manchester United, the club has confirmed.
Scanlon, who spent the second half of last season on loan at League Two outfit Swindon Town, arrives at the Emirates Stadium with growing experience both domestically and on the international stage. During his loan spell with the Robins, he scored his first goal at senior club level and contributed to the team's ninth-place finish in League Two.
Despite his young age, Scanlon has already established himself as a regular for Gibraltar's senior national team, amassing 24 caps and featuring in both World Cup qualifying fixtures and Nations League matches. That international pedigree, combined with his loan experience in England's fourth tier, made him an appealing target for Arsenal as they continue to invest in their youth development pathway.
