But here, for more than 90 minutes—including during warm-ups—they insulted my family, my wife, my children," he added.
Guendouzi described the abuse as deeply personal and said it left him emotionally affected. "It was a situation that really got to me, that deeply affected me. For me, it was complete disrespect. And on top of that, if we can't even celebrate the way we want, to me that's total injustice—it's truly heartbreaking," he said.
The Frenchman's history with Marseille has long made him an unpopular figure among Lyon supporters, and Thursday's fixture appeared to intensify those tensions from the opening whistle through to the chaotic aftermath.
Despite the disorder, Fenerbahce's progression to the Champions League league phase stands as the key sporting outcome of the tie, with the draw for the competition's newly structured group stage taking place later the same day.
