Leicester City's fall from Premier League champions to League One strugglers has taken another uncomfortable turn, with new manager Russell Martin under scrutiny after a difficult start to life in the third tier.
The Foxes opened their League One campaign with a draw at Notts County before suffering a 2-1 home defeat to Burton Albion, extending a wretched run that has yielded just one victory in their last 11 league matches. The poor form has prompted bookmakers to shorten the odds on a third consecutive relegation to 33-1, a grim prospect for a club that only ten years ago produced one of football's greatest fairytales.
Martin, appointed in June on a three-year deal, arrived with his managerial credentials already under pressure. Since guiding Southampton to promotion via the play-offs in May 2024, he has managed just two league wins across spells at Southampton and Rangers, the latter lasting only 123 days before his sacking in October 2025.
