Tottenham Eye Double Manchester City Swoop for Marmoush and Savinho

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly targeting a pair of Manchester City attackers, Omar Marmoush and Savinho, as part of an ambitious and costly overhaul of their forward line this summer.

Savinho has long been on Spurs' radar, with the club having previously considered a £50m offer for the Brazilian winger last summer before he committed his future to City. Now, Tottenham are reportedly also weighing up a move for Marmoush as manager Roberto De Zerbi continues to reshape his attacking options following a campaign in which the club narrowly avoided relegation.

Marmoush arrived at City in January 2025 from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth £59m and has since contributed 16 goals in 62 appearances. Despite that record, the Egyptian forward made only eight Premier League starts last season, often used as an alternative to Erling Haaland up front.

Savinho's situation has been similarly complicated. The 22-year-old, who joined City's sister club system before moving to the Etihad in 2024, has scored seven goals in 84 games for City but featured in just seven league starts last term. His path to regular football was further blocked after Antoine Semenyo's arrival from Bournemouth in January. Notably, Savinho was left out of the matchday squad entirely for City's Community Shield defeat to Arsenal, while Marmoush was introduced for the final 37 minutes of that game.

City's business this summer has already been substantial, generating around £160m through the sales of Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, James Trafford and Nathan Ake. Should Marmoush and Savinho also depart, that figure would rise further. The Manchester club are additionally in discussions with Newcastle United over a potential move for Nico Gonzalez, and continue to search for midfield reinforcements following the departures of Rodri and Reijnders. City have already smashed their transfer record to sign Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116m and are said to be in talks with Lille regarding Ayyoub Bouaddi, as well as showing interest in Chelsea's Enzo Fernandez.

For Tottenham, pursuing both Marmoush and Savinho would represent a significant financial commitment on top of an already busy summer of recruitment. Spurs have twice broken their transfer record this window, first for midfielder Mateus Fernandes at £85m and then for Sandro Tonali in a deal that could rise to £100m. The north London club have also strengthened their defence, bringing in centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52m, alongside free transfer additions Marcos Senesi and Andy Robertson.

To help fund the incoming spending, Tottenham have raised approximately £72m through outgoing defensive sales in recent days. Cristian Romero has completed a move to Atletico Madrid, Djed Spence has joined Inter Milan, and Ashley Phillips has departed for Middlesbrough.

With De Zerbi seeking to add attacking depth and firepower to his squad, a double raid on Manchester City would mark one of the more eye-catching developments of the transfer window, though the financial scale of such a deal means any agreement is likely to require lengthy negotiation between the two clubs.
