Arsenal Open to Offers for Martinelli and Nwaneri as Squad Overhaul Continues

Arsenal are prepared to entertain offers for Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli and academy graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly's fellow youngster Ethan Nwaneri as the club presses ahead with a summer of squad restructuring, according to reports from BBC Sport.

Nwaneri, 19, has long been tipped for a departure, with BBC Sport having first indicated back in April that the England Under-21 international was among those the Gunners would be willing to part with this summer. His performances have not gone unnoticed across the continent, with AC Milan, Fulham, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund all said to be tracking the teenager as he weighs up his next move.

The decision to include Martinelli among those available reflects a broader shift in strategy at the Emirates Stadium, where sporting director Andrea Berta has been given a clear mandate: balance incoming investment with meaningful outgoing sales. Berta, who arrived with a reputation for shrewd dealings built during his time in Spain and Italy, has been working alongside assistant Maurizio Michele to identify buyers, leaning heavily on contacts established in the Turkish market to help move players on.

That network has already borne fruit. Belgium international Leandro Trossard completed a switch to Besiktas in a transfer that could be worth up to £17m depending on add-ons, marking one of the more significant departures of the window so far.

Arsenal's business this summer has, in total, generated close to £45m through a combination of sales. Alongside Trossard's move, the club has sanctioned exits for defender Jakub Kiwior, midfielder Christian Norgaard and goalkeeper Karl Hein, each contributing to the overall figure raised as Berta looks to fund further recruitment.

There is more activity in the pipeline. Arsenal are currently negotiating with West Ham United over a permanent transfer for winger Reiss Nelson, a deal that could bring in an additional £3m should terms be finalised. Nelson, who has struggled for consistent playing time in recent seasons, appears to be nearing the exit door at the Emirates.

Other squad members whose futures remain uncertain include Brazilian forward Gabriel Jesus and Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira, both of whom have been given the green light to explore moves away from north London. Meanwhile, Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi is understood to have attracted interest from clubs in his home country, adding another name to the list of players who could depart before the transfer window closes.

The flurry of outgoing activity underscores Arsenal's determination to reshape their squad this summer, freeing up resources and squad space as they continue to pursue reinforcements in key areas. With Berta's connections in Turkey proving useful and interest from multiple European clubs in several fringe and squad players, the Gunners appear set for a busy remainder of the transfer window, balancing sales with targeted incoming business as they aim to strengthen their push for major honours next season.
