The 19-year-old, son of former Chelsea director of football Michael Emenalo, has been on an upward trajectory at Stamford Bridge after a string of impressive performances during pre-season. His displays are said to have particularly caught the eye of new Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso during the club's summer tour of Australia and Asia, where his forward-thinking style as a left-back stood out.
