The new League Two campaign promises fresh intrigue, with several clubs undergoing managerial upheaval and squad rebuilds as they chase promotion or fight to preserve their status.

Salford City endured a bitter end to last season, losing the playoff final before parting ways with manager Karl Robinson. Peter Cklamovski, arriving from his post with the Malaysia national team, takes charge of the newly rebranded Ammies, who return to their traditional orange colours. The club has moved to bolster its attack significantly by signing striker Macaulay Langstaff, whose goal-scoring pedigree makes Salford one of the favourites to finally secure promotion.

Chesterfield also fell short in last season's playoffs, but Paul Cook, regarded as one of the division's sharpest operators, remains at the helm despite losing forward Armando Dobra. Grimsby have strengthened by bringing in veteran striker Andy Cook, whose impact could prove decisive if he stays fit and available. At Walsall, goalkeeper Lee Grant, who struggled to make his mark at Huddersfield, will look to establish himself after already helping the Saddlers knock Championship side Bristol City out of the EFL Cup in preseason.

The club has appointed Steve McClaren as director of football alongside Alex Bruce as head coach, aiming to reset following the drop. The departure of striker Sam Nombe was a setback, though the resulting transfer fee should give the club room to reinvest. Port Vale, guided by Jon Brady, could not avoid relegation last term but have assembled arguably the strongest squad in the division, with summer additions Max Watters and Kyle Dempsey standing out.

In the chasing pack, Crewe Alexandra missed the playoffs after a late-season slide but will benefit from the returning Luke Offord and Joe White. Barnet, who finished just two points off the playoffs following their return to the EFL, have largely retained their core squad under Dean Brennan, with the notable departure of Ryan Glover to Stockport. Oldham Athletic have reinforced their attack with Elliott Nevitt and added experience through Oliver Norburn, previously part of Notts County's promotion-winning side.

Crawley Town, under Colin Kazim-Richards, have been busy in the market, bringing in former Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone and winger Malcolm Ebiowei as they look to steer clear of relegation trouble. Exeter City face a difficult campaign after relegation and off-field issues, while Swindon Town's preparations were criticised by manager Ian Holloway, who described a preseason friendly performance against Bristol City as
