Heart of Midlothian have reached an agreement to sell Greek international winger Alexandros Kyziridis to a Turkish club in a deal worth approximately £1.7m, ending a brief but eventful spell at Tynecastle.
The 25-year-old arrived in Edinburgh last summer from Slovakian side Zemplin Michalovce, putting pen to paper on a three-year contract. His time in Scotland quickly turned heads, as he became an important attacking option under head coach Derek McInnes during a campaign that saw Hearts push close to a historic league title challenge.
Across 42 appearances for the Jambos, Kyziridis contributed six goals and 11 assists, numbers that reflected his growing influence in the final third. His performances did not go unnoticed on the international stage either, with the winger earning his first senior cap for Greece in a summer friendly against Italy.
Despite the interest he generated from several clubs throughout the summer transfer window, Kyziridis remained part of the Hearts squad and even featured in a recent fixture against Portuguese giants Benfica in Lisbon. That appearance now looks set to be one of his last in maroon, as he prepares to travel to Turkey to complete the formalities of his switch.
