Clearlake Capital Seizes Full Ownership of Chelsea as Boehly Steps Down

Chelsea Football Club has undergone a significant ownership shake-up after Todd Boehly and Mark Walter agreed to sell their respective stakes in the club to Clearlake Capital, handing the American private equity firm complete control of the Premier League side.

The deal, confirmed in a club statement released on Wednesday evening, brings an end to Boehly's four-year tenure as chairman, a role he had held since the consortium acquired Chelsea from Roman Abramovich for £2.3billion in 2022 following the Russian owner's sanctioning by the UK government.
