Despite his criticism of Fernandes, Keane did not believe Foden's reaction warranted a straight red card, stating simply: "Foden, I don't think it's a red card."
With the incident having already been reviewed by officials during the match — including a VAR check on the initial red card decision — the possibility of retrospective action against Fernandes appears highly unlikely. Football's governing bodies typically reserve retrospective disciplinary panels for incidents that match officials failed to see or address during the game itself.
