Crystal Palace continued their remarkable record at Craven Cottage on Saturday, coming from behind twice to beat Fulham 3-2 and hand new manager Pierre Sage his first win in charge, courtesy of a dramatic late winner from substitute Ben Chilwell.
Chilwell, who joined Palace permanently on deadline day from Strasbourg after previously spending half of last season on loan at Selhurst Park from Chelsea, was introduced in the 74th minute and needed just three more to make his mark. Picking up a loose ball after Anan Khalaili's effort had been blocked, the former England left-back rifled a volley into the bottom corner to complete the turnaround and send the travelling Palace supporters into raptures.
The win extends Palace's extraordinary record in this fixture, having now won on four consecutive visits to this corner of west London, including three victories in 2025 alone under previous boss Oliver Glasner.
Fulham had begun brightly under new head coach Álvaro Arbeloa, taking the lead in the 11th minute through teenage midfielder Josh King. Oscar Bobb's low cutback found King in the box, and although his effort took a deflection off Jaydee Canvot, it was enough to wrong-foot goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Palace thought they had drawn level almost immediately when Daichi Kamada volleyed home a Yéremy Pino cross with the outside of his boot, but the goal was ruled out for a marginal offside following a VAR review.
The equalizer did eventually arrive, with Tyrick Mitchell finding the net in the 30th minute. Pino picked out his teammate on the left, and Mitchell held off former Palace colleague Joachim Andersen before finishing near post past Bernd Leno.
Fulham responded before the interval, however, with César Palacios scoring his first Premier League goal. King raced beyond Chris Richards on the left flank and squared for Gonzalo García, whose backheeled effort was initially saved by Henderson before Palacios converted the rebound.
Mitchell struck again after the break to level for a second time, in slightly fortuitous circumstances. García got a touch on the Palace man's initial effort, but the ball cannoned back into Mitchell's path and trickled over the line off his fall, with García unable to clear it despite the chance to do so.
Henderson kept Palace in the contest with two important saves to deny Palacios and Bobb before Chilwell's introduction turned the tide decisively in the visitors' favor. Fulham pushed for a response, and substitute Ryan Sessegnon found the side netting in stoppage time, but Palace held on to seal all three points.
Speaking after the match, Sage acknowledged his side's first-half struggles but pointed to the character shown to complete the comeback.
