Tottenham Hotspur have entered discussions over a possible loan move for Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk, according to reports. The Ukrainian, who has recently returned to eligibility following a doping suspension, is said to be receptive to the idea of joining the north London club.
A key factor behind Mudryk's willingness to consider the switch is his existing relationship with Tottenham head coach Roberto de Zerbi. The two worked together at Shakhtar Donetsk, where de Zerbi managed Mudryk before the player's move to west London, and that connection is understood to be playing a role in the discussions now taking place.
Mudryk arrived at Chelsea from Shakhtar in 2023 in a deal worth an initial £61m, arriving with a reputation as one of European football's most exciting young attacking talents. However, his time in England has been overshadowed by an anti-doping case that kept him off the pitch for close to a year.
The winger was provisionally suspended after an out-of-competition test, conducted while he was on international duty with Ukraine in October 2024, returned an adverse finding for the banned substance meldonium. The Football Association subsequently handed him the maximum available ban of four years, a sanction Mudryk chose to challenge by lodging an appeal with the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
That process has now reached a resolution. On 31 July, the FA confirmed that the disciplinary proceedings had been settled, revealing that Mudryk had accepted he broke anti-doping regulations.
