Everton snatched a dramatic late equaliser to leave the Vitality Stadium with a share of the spoils, as James Tarkowski's injury-time header cancelled out Alex Scott's first-half strike in a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
The hosts had looked on course for all three points for much of the contest after Scott put them ahead in the first half, capping a bright opening period from the Cherries. Everton struggled to find a foothold in the game for long spells and were unable to fashion clear-cut chances as the clock ticked down, with Bournemouth appearing content to see out the win.
However, Everton's persistence paid off in the most dramatic fashion possible. With the game deep into stoppage time and hope fading for the visitors, Tarkowski rose to convert in the 91st minute, sparking wild celebrations among the travelling supporters and securing a point that few had anticipated moments earlier.
Speaking after the match, Everton manager David Moyes admitted his side's performance had left him frustrated, despite the last-gasp reprieve. He conceded that for large parts of the afternoon it appeared his team simply did not have it in them to find the net, saying it looked as though Everton
