Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is aiming to complete a personal awards treble as he headlines the shortlist for the PFA Players' Player of the Year, one of English football's most prestigious individual honours voted for by fellow professionals.
The Portuguese midfielder has already been crowned Premier League Player of the Season and the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year for the recently concluded campaign. Should he add the PFA prize to his collection, Fernandes would become the first Manchester United player to lift the award since Wayne Rooney achieved the feat back in 2010.

The England international was absent for one match due to injury before being given a rest for Arsenal's final game of the season away at Crystal Palace, with the championship already secured by that point.
Completing the six-man shortlist are two Manchester City representatives in Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki. Haaland's inclusion comes on the back of another prolific goalscoring campaign that saw him claim the Golden Boot, netting 27 times in the league—five more strikes than his nearest challenger, Brentford forward Igor Thiago.
Notably absent from this year's list is any representation from Liverpool, despite Mohamed Salah having been named the previous recipient of the award last season. The Egyptian forward's omission marks a shift in the voting patterns of Premier League players compared to twelve months ago.
The successful candidate will be revealed at the 53rd PFA Awards Ceremony, set to take place in Manchester on Tuesday, August 25. The event traditionally brings together the sport's leading figures to celebrate outstanding individual performances from the season, with the Players' Player of the Year regarded as particularly significant given it is determined by the votes of fellow professionals rather than media or public opinion.
For Fernandes, victory would cement an already remarkable individual season and place him in rare company as one of the few Manchester United stars to be honoured with the accolade in recent history.
