The arrest took place in the early hours of Sunday morning at a trailer park in East Palestine, Ohio, with both the East Palestine Police Department and the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force involved in the operation.
York, 46, has personal ties to the region — he was born and raised in nearby Youngstown, roughly a 30-minute drive from East Palestine, and still maintains a residence in the area.
The 49ers owner is the nephew of Edward J. DeBartolo Jr., who previously served as the team's majority owner. York assumed day-to-day control of the franchise in 2008 when he was named CEO. More recently, in 2024, he became the team's principal owner after acquiring shares held by his mother.
Under York's leadership as CEO, the 49ers have advanced to three Super Bowls, though the franchise has come up short in each of those championship appearances.
