Juventus Boss Spalletti Shuts Down Arsenal Interest in Kenan Yildiz

Arsenal's pursuit of Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz appears set to end in disappointment this summer, after head coach Luciano Spalletti made clear the 21-year-old will remain in Turin regardless of any offers on the table.

Yildiz, regarded as one of Europe's most promising young attacking talents, has reportedly been on Arsenal's radar as the Gunners look to strengthen their forward options before the transfer window shuts at 11pm BST on September 1. Reports had suggested rival clubs could be willing to pay as much as €100million (£85m) to prise the Turkish international away from Juventus, but Spalletti was adamant that no fee would change the club's stance.

Speaking to reporters ahead of Juventus' Serie A season opener against newly promoted Frosinone, Spalletti dismissed the notion that Yildiz's future was even in doubt. "I am perfectly relaxed, because dealing with Yildiz is easy for me," he said, according to Football Italia. "They can offer whatever they like, I want Yildiz here and will always put him on the field."

The Italian coach went on to praise the player's temperament and outlook, describing him as someone who understands his development does not need to be rushed. "He's a perfect lad to talk to, he's mature, and knows he doesn't need to rush anything," Spalletti added. "His future is already important staying at Juventus, not because there are other clubs who want to spend €100m for him."

Spalletti went further still, offering some of his strongest praise yet for the young forward's ceiling. "We are all convinced that we can show the total potential of Kenan, and he is a potential phenomenon of football. The fans are convinced too," he said.

Juventus find themselves in a position of considerable strength in any negotiations, largely because Yildiz committed his long-term future to the club as recently as February, signing a contract extension that runs until 2030. That deal was widely seen as a statement of intent from the Bianconeri, who view the winger as a central figure in their rebuilding project under Spalletti.

Born in Germany and developed through Bayern Munich's youth ranks before making the move to Turin in 2022, Yildiz has quickly established himself as a key contributor at senior level. Across 131 appearances for Juventus in all competitions, he has produced 27 goals and 21 assists, numbers that reflect his growing influence on the team's attacking play.

His rise has not gone unnoticed on the international stage either. Yildiz has become a regular fixture for Turkey, scoring five goals in 31 appearances for the senior national side. He was also part of the Turkish squad that competed at this summer's World Cup in North America, further boosting his profile among Europe's elite clubs.

For Arsenal, the update represents a setback in their broader search for attacking reinforcements as the transfer deadline approaches. While the north London club have continued to be linked with a host of forward targets throughout the window, Spalletti's comments suggest any move for Yildiz specifically would face firm resistance from Juventus, who appear determined to build their future around the young winger rather than cash in on his rising value.
