Tottenham Hotspur are set to complete a club-record deal for Manchester City winger Savinho, with the Brazilian expected to undergo a medical before finalising his move to north London.
The agreement is worth up to £85m, made up of a £75m base fee plus £10m in add-ons, £5m of which are considered highly likely to be triggered — guaranteeing City at least £80m for the 22-year-old. The transfer represents a club-record sale for City and continues an extraordinary summer of investment under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Savinho must be registered before Friday midday to be eligible for Spurs' Premier League opener against Brentford on Saturday. Spurs had previously attempted to sign the winger last summer, only for City to insist he remain for the 2025-26 campaign. However, with Savinho restricted to limited playing time — including losing his place to January arrival Antoine Semenyo — both player and club have now agreed it is time for a change.
The Brazilian joined City's parent club, Troyes, in 2022 for around £30.8m, though he never played for the French side. Instead, he spent time on loan at PSV and helped fellow City Football Group club Girona reach the Champions League before officially moving to Manchester two years ago. In total, he scored seven goals in 84 appearances for City, but managed just two Premier League goals. His sale to Spurs would net City's ownership a profit of close to £55m.
With Savinho's departure, City are reportedly turning their attention to Palmeiras winger Allan as a potential replacement.
Spurs, meanwhile, appear determined to continue their City raid. The north London club are also in advanced talks to sign forward Omar Marmoush, who joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt for around £59m in January 2025 but struggled for regular minutes behind Erling Haaland. A fee in the region of £75m has been mentioned for Marmoush's proposed switch to Tottenham.
Should both deals go through, Tottenham's total outlay this summer would swell to around £387m, according to reports, as De Zerbi continues an ambitious overhaul of his squad. The club have already broken their transfer record multiple times this window, having paid £100m for Sandro Tonali, £85m for Mateus Fernandes, and £52m for defender Jan Paul van Hecke. Free transfers Martin Dubravka, Andy Robertson and Marcos Senesi have also arrived at the club.
Spurs previously held a £65m deal for Dominic Solanke as their record signing before this summer's spending spree began.
Tottenham are also said to hold an interest in Liverpool forward Cody Gakpo, though it remains unclear whether that pursuit would be advanced if the Marmoush deal is completed.
For Manchester City, the sale of Savinho would push their summer transfer income to approximately £235m, following departures including Rodri, Tijjani Reijnders, Nathan Ake and James Trafford. Guardiola's side appear willing to cash in on squad players who have failed to become regular starters, using the funds to reshape their options going into the new season.
With the transfer window deadline approaching, both clubs look set for further business, as Tottenham push to complete a squad overhaul that could ultimately cost close to £400m by the time the market closes.
