Tottenham Hotspur have struck an agreement with Manchester City to sign Brazilian winger Savinho in a deal worth £75m, with a further £10m available in add-ons, according to reports on Thursday.
The 22-year-old is set to undergo a medical before putting pen to paper on a long-term contract in north London, bringing to an end a pursuit that Spurs have maintained for more than a year. Tottenham first attempted to sign Savinho last summer, but the winger chose to remain at the Etihad Stadium at that stage.
His decision to stay did not translate into regular first-team action, however, with Savinho restricted to just seven Premier League starts under Pep Guardiola last season. That lack of game time appears to have played a part in his willingness to now push through a move away from City.
The transfer represents the latest step in what has been an active summer of recruitment for Tottenham under head coach Roberto De Zerbi. The Italian has already overseen a significant overhaul of his midfield, sanctioning a combined outlay of £185m to bring in Mateus Fernandes from West Ham United and Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United. Attention has since turned to bolstering the forward line, with Savinho viewed as a key addition to that project.
Spurs are not expected to stop there. Talks over a move for another Manchester City attacker, Omar Marmoush, are said to be progressing positively. The Egypt international arrived at the Etihad from Eintracht Frankfurt in a £59m deal in 2025 but slipped down the pecking order last season, opening the door to a potential departure. Tottenham are also understood to retain an interest in Liverpool's Cody Gakpo, though it remains uncertain whether the club could stretch to financing a deal for the Netherlands forward on top of moves for both Savinho and Marmoush.
For Manchester City, the departure of Savinho would come as Pep Guardiola's side continue to reshape their attacking options. City have identified Brazilian winger Allan, who plays for Palmeiras, as a potential replacement. Allan's contract reportedly contains a €100m release clause, though City are said to be exploring whether a lower fee could be agreed.
The Savinho deal forms part of a wider flurry of transfer activity across the Premier League as clubs look to finalise their squads ahead of the new season. Arsenal, the reigning champions, have been exploring a move for Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz as manager Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen the left side of his attack, an area long identified as a priority. The Gunners have already agreed a deal to sign defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa for around £50m, providing cover following William Saliba's serious injury.
Elsewhere, Liverpool have seen a £50m bid for Brighton's Yankuba Minteh turned down as they search for attacking reinforcements following the departure of Mohamed Salah, while also showing interest in Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola, though the two clubs remain far apart on valuation. Manchester United, meanwhile, are reportedly prepared to spend more than £60m to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba as they continue to strengthen under new manager Michael Carrick.
With the transfer window drawing towards its climax, further moves involving several of the Premier League's leading clubs are expected before deadline day.
